NATIONAL TACKLING DRUGS WEEK
8th -12th June 2009 |
Drug and Alcohol Action Programme (DAAP) in conjunction with Ealing Drug and Alcohol Team (DAAT) are organising borough wide events during the National Tackling Drugs Week (NTDW).
The events are designed to raise awareness of the work undertaken by agencies in Ealing to tackle drugs and reduce drug-related harm.
DAAP staff and volunteers will be out in their community van at seven locations in the borough from 9th June distributing information about drugs, alcohol and Khat and enabling anyone with a problem to get the right information and advice.
A new information leaflet about illegal drugs, the law and harm related to taking drugs has being produced for distribution throughout Ealing. The leaflet also lists details of local services.
Ealing residents will also get information delivered to their doors through The Leader and Ealing Gazette about how drug and alcohol users, their families and their communities can access and benefit from the help and support that is available.
The purpose of the National Tackling Drugs Week designated by the Home Office is to raise awareness of the work undertaken by agencies and police forces to tackle drugs and reduce drug-related crime and harm. For more information drugs.homeoffice.gov.uk/news-events/latest-news/tacklingdrugsweek2009
